Info Venezuela: news and information site about Venezuela

A few years ago, in October 2002 to be more precise, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez went to Oxford to give a lecture, as part of a conference about human rights. This was the same man that a decade earlier was arrested leading a coup d'etat against a democraticaly elected president, causing many deaths. Chavez's visit to Oxford prompted some reactions, one of which was the creation of vcrisis.com. The convenor of the conference where Chavez exposed his views, William F. Pepper, was rewarded shortly after by the Venezuela government with $137,000.

There was a time when everyone, especially the Left, took his words at face value. Nowadays Chavez is deeply committed to reaffirm his anti-establishment and thuggish persona by, for instance, inviting to Venezuela Sudan's ruler al-Bashir, a man on whose head hangs an arrest warrant, for genocide, issued by the International Criminal Court. Chavez is also the only 'democratically elected' leader that has backed Iran's Ahmadinejad in the recent sham elections.

More importantly, what some of us denounced many years ago, that is that Hugo Chavez has a close relation and continuosly supports Colombia's narco-terrorists from FARC, has been properly exposed and corroborated by reputable and authoritative sources such as INTERPOL, the New York Times, Semana (part I, part II), and the Office of the Coordinator of Counterterrorism, among others.

Nowadays most of Chavez's international cheerleaders have been exposed as either being on the take, or so discredited that no one takes their opinions seriously.

This site will approach the subject from a different, more iconoclastic, perspective. The truth about Hugo Chavez is out in the open. It is imperative now, to start telling the truth about Venezuela.

This site also contains an assessment of the state of democracy in Venezuela, compiled a while ago by a known electoral watchdog.

Information about corrupt associates of Hugo Chavez, such as Diosdado Cabello, Ricardo Fernandez Barrueco, or Majed Khalil Majzoub could also be read in this site.
